Barkley Oars makes beautiful flat-blade and spoon-blade oars from Sitka Spruce (also known as tideland spruce or silver spruce), a timber found in abundance in BC. Sitka spruce is ideal in oar and paddle making due to its high strength-to-weight ratio and straight grain.
We also stock a wide range or traditional oarlocks cast from bronze. Select from closed rowlocks, open rowlocks and a number of drop rowlocks.
Poloished bronze rowlocks can also be chrome-plated to order.
