Description

Fixed Eye Wooden Block - Single

Beautiful European-made traditional wooden blocks to complement any classic sailing vessel. The shells are constructed from ash timber varnished to a high gloss, while the bindings and bearings are out of stainless steel.

The sheaves on blocks up to 4" are manufactured from Tufnol - a traditional laminated plastic.  Sheaves on the larger blocks are out of ertalon. Alternatively you can substitute aluminium bronze sheaves up to 60mm.

The block is quickly and easily maintained with the removal of a single stainless screw.

The single ash block comes standard with a fixed eye. Also available with a stainless steel becket.

A range of sizes is available.

    Service Was Terrific

Posted by Mary Swanton on 4th Aug 2013

I bought the Fixed Eye Wooden Block with the intention of installing it at the apex of my still-being-constructed-attic. As I live by myself we had to come up with a way for me to get stuff up there – pulley + basket.

As my house is of the Federation style + the attic is being done out in pine I decided to settle for one of those old wooden pulleys + after having scoured Hobart’s antique shops came up empty handed! Then I thought of wooden boat supply shops, got on the internet, and voila… the rest, as they say is history!

As stated the item itself is made from beautiful timber + will fit in well into the surroundings

Your service was terrific – I think I received it 2 days after ordering

I will send you a photo when it is eventually installed (won’t be for a while)

    Cheers
