Hempex® is a strong but lightweight synthetic rope with the appearance and feel of a natural hemp rope. Hempex® floats and is soft to the touch.
Manufactured by Langman Ropes in Holland, Hempex® has been developed with enhanced UV properties and compares favourably with other polypropylene ropes in this regard.
This particular rope is constructed from either 3 strands or 4 strands (depending on the diameter) and is available in diameters from 4mm through to 36mm. Larger diameters are available by special request. Hempex® rope is suitable for sheets, halyards and as bolt rope on sailing boats. Hempex® is also ideal for outdoor landscaping and decorative applications where weather or sun does not permit natural hemp to be used.
Sold by the metre or on spools of 220 metres. View quantity discounts for purchases of 50m or more.
Hempex® is a registered trademark of Langman Ropes of the Netherlands.

i have found Hempex Rope to be excellent for our outdoor use and the service from Classic Boat Supplies to be excellent and very helpful
I bought the hempex rope to hang an outdoor day bed and wanted something natural looking but weatherproof. The quality is excellent, as is the customer service.
I was able to phone the company from over in Perth and was given advice and help and and also the shipping cost was fantastic as well. Many thanks :D
Excellent hemp-like material for making supports for ships in bottles and turk's heads.
Having used Hempex rope before i have a keen respect for its versatility and endurance.
Hempex has proved excellent for traditional boat work, grommets splicing etc holding it's lay well when single strands are unraveled
If it lives up to it's uv and strength promise on the boat it will be near perfect as it certainley looks the part as well
When it came time to renew the mooring retrieval line for our boat I thought of good old silver rope. Low cost, but unfriendly to handle and not sexy on a classic boat.
So why not indulge in some decent traditional looking cordage that actually says we care! I shot down to Classic boat supplies and their prompt and friendly service brightened my day.
The cost was very reasonable and I now have very serviceable rope that also looks great.
Have used two thicknesses of Hempex for boats I've built and it's perfect - looks natural, tough & won't rot, feels soft on the hands. Classic Boat Supplies is so helpful with service and speedy with delivery, even halfway 'round the world (Massachusetts). Won't hesitate to repeat purchases again.
