Sorry - LAN-S. is sold out. Pre-order for new stock arriving 7th Jun 2024.

Natural-fibre hempflax rope manufactured by world-renowned Langman Ropes in Holland.  Hemp rope was traditionally used on classic sailing boats however modern synthetic products, such as polyester, which can be made to look like hemp, are often preferred by today's mariners due to the strength and long-life of man-made fibres.

Langman Ropes of Holland have recreated a a rope with almost exactly the same feel as traditional Hemp using the flax plant. Hemp suitable for rope-making is virtually impossible to find these days, but this rope is virtually identical in look, performance and feel.

Natural hemp is still sought after by some nautical purists in the yachting industry for the rigging of classic ships.  It is also used by landscape architects, artists and those requiring a fully 100% natural product.

Hempflax rope is often used for climbing ropes in gymnasiums, pull ropes, gymnastic swing ropes, bannister ropes, theatre ropes, skirting ropes & twines.  The larger diameters are also ideal for tug-o-war, as battling ropes and bootcamp/fitness training due to their weight.  Because of its natural look hempflax is often used in interior design applications, particularly for nautical or beach-side themes.

Langman's hempflax rope is of the highest quality and is shipped to Classic Boat Supplies in spools of 220 metres.  We sell this rope by the metre in diameters from 6mm through to 36mm.  This hempflax rope is twisted from 3-strands, or 4-strands for the larger diameters.

If you are looking for a hemp-like rope that will last longer outdoors than natural rope, then check out Hempex® - a natural-looking polypropylene rope ideal as landscaping rope, outdoor hand rails and other applications where weather and sun will degrade a natural fibre rope. See Hempex® Rope.

One thing needed to be commented on is the rope is generously sized so buy the next smaller size to what you need if maximum diameter is important as it will swell with use a little bit.

A quality product that requires little preparation to run thru the hands nicely. A authentic experience with traditional style in mind. I will and have returned to buy more of this product, as it is a great rate per metre and a decent discount for lengths of 50m or more.

    Pretty happy.

There was a slub in one section of my rope, probably wouldn't affect the use, but not aesthetically pleasing. I did get a little more than I paid for in that length, so can't complain. It dyed quite well.
